What can we do to make happy green holidays? Let's try to use our creativity and limit the impact on the environment this holiday season.
- Recycle... Old Christmas cards into gift tags, bookmarks, decoupage boxes...
- Avoid unnecessary packaging and accept only the bags you need.
- Buy food and drink packaged in materials that can be recycled.
- Use a reusable shopping bag or reuse your plastic bags!
- Buy recycled... Or look for alternatives, there are pretty gifts that are made from recycled materials.
- Make decorations from scrap materials.
- Make a resolution to recycle in 2008!

It's looking and sounding like Christmas here too. I heard Christmas music playing over the speakers at school today, and the school kids are talking about Christmas. It seems a bit soon to me, but the season stretches from Thanksgiving right through to December 25th these days.
These decorations are interesting and clever Cris. What are PET bottles?
I do as much of that as I can. I like your recycled decorations.
All excellent ideas! And I love the idea of the recycled plastic decorations!
I am going to send my christmas letter by email to all that have email.
Blessings

What Do We Love About Christmas?
What do we love about Christmas;
Does our delight reside in things?
Or are the feelings in our hearts
The real gift that Christmas brings.
It's seeing those we love,
And sending Christmas cards, too,
Appreciating people who bring us joy
Special people just like you.
wow cris, i thought that is made of garlic(first pix). sad to say that all my decors these season are made in china. but last year i did recycle. it was antique, hope you can dig up my christmas post.
and i love your food blog. i wish i can try one of your recipes someday. specially the avocado. btw, do you have an avocado dip recipe? i lost mine. it was from a mexican-american friend and it was just so yum with doritos or any other chips.
It is so funny to see Christmas decorations with leaves on the trees! Reminds me of many Christmas' spent with family in New Orleans...even they lose a lot of thier leaves though but not all.
Mike
